Itmahawa Enos

Winter 2024 WZGT Scholarship Award

The Wà:šiw Zùlšiš Gum T’ànu Winter College Student Scholarship will be awarded to Itmahawa Enos. Itmahawa achieved a 3.0 GPA in her first semester of college at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. She is now in her second semester of college with a major in Business Management and a minor in Native American Politics. Her plan upon graduation is to return home to pursue a leadership position following in the footsteps of her Great-Aunt Wanda Batchelor who was the first Washoe Tribe’s Chairwoman. As a true seventh generation Native woman who was raised by a family who has been actively involved in culture and language revitalization, we (WZGT Board of Directors) are proud to present Itmahawa with this award of $1000 in support of your education.

Congratulations Itmahawa Enos, and gratitude to your family for raising a beautiful, smart and culturally grounded young woman. We look forward to your return home to leadership.
